Persistence in STEM

Woman Daring Greatly

Daring Greatly has inspired a new way of thinking for me. Before I was really afraid to be vulnerable, especially as a woman of color in technology. I was vulnerable as a chance to fail and look like a dummy. After reading the book I see vulnerability in a new light. Vulnerability is an emotional risk that takes courage not shame. Out of being vulnerable one can find innovations, creativity, and change. There's nothing stronger than daring greatly to fail. I now want to inspire others to take risks and persist in a career in STEM despite stereotypes. The only way to stay down is to not try.
