1. My Hero I am grateful for my Dad. When he was seventeen years old, he wanted a better future for himself and his future family. So, not knowing any English or having any kind of education, he crossed the border from Mexico into the United States. He was able to get a worker’s visa and a job as a cook in a small restaurant. He would travel back and forth between the two countries to keep in contact with his family. When he was twenty-two years old, he fell in love with my mom and my oldest sister was born in Mexico. After my sister turned one my dad decided to bring my mother and sister to America and live there full time. They lived in Idaho for a year and then had my second sister. Another year went by and I was also born in Idaho. Six months after I was born my father was offered a work opportunity in Arizona. We moved to Arizona and my dad began his new job in welding. Something that inspires you

Inspiration Have you ever had a tough day at work or school? Where everything just doesn't seem to go your way. By the middle of the day you begin to count down the hours for night time. I have been there several days this semester. What inspires me to keep moving forward is remembering the day always ends and tomorrow will be different. Yesterdays trouble will be just that. So my tip for anyone who feels like the day is dragging or never ending is to remember there are only 24hr or 86400 seconds in a day and that's it. Dealing with mid-semester stress

The semester of Fall 2020 has definitely been different compared to the rest of my college experience. This is my first year going to classes fully online. I must admit the mid-semester stress is more instance than I am used to. To help others out here are some tips I use to make it manageable. My first tip is make a study schedule that allows you to still take a day or two free to just relax. My second tip is to create study groups. This tip is the most important to me because this is my preferred way of studying. My last tip is to find your own method of studying that works for you. I hope this tips help reduce your mid-semester stress. Good Luck!

Transmission to online-classes

The transmission from in-person classes to virtual classes all at once has been overwhelming and at times feels unfair but it is not a total loss. I do not mind having classes online. In fact in some cases like LSC394 I prefer it. I think the professors do a great job breaking us into groups so we can virtually interact with each other and share our thoughts. O ther positive outcomes have been eating out less, not having to find parking or walk all the way across campus to go from one class to the other, and not paying parking fees. Alongside there are some negatives such as feeling lost alone or hopeless when you don't understand a lecture or concept in class. Online classes include a lot of self study and I have yet to learn my style of studying outside of school. It is difficult to work on homework at my house because there are so many distractions. My solution has been going to quite places to study outside of my house such as a friends house or visiting the schools ...
